Haven (2011)
Spain and especially the Canary Islands, because geographically located a few kilometers from Africa and easily accessible by sea, have been one of the main target of illegal immigration in Europe. Many immigrants are now living there regulary while others are still seeking for a better future somewhere. I did this project in Lanzarote. After various researches, and discussion with some some immigrants, I came across this isolated ruin located in a secluded spot on a hill overlooking the vast infinity of the sea, the mystery of the outside invite me inside, to discover a place where many of these people have used has their new 'home' and 'The start of a dream'!
